Coffee has had a long journey over the centuries from rural Ethiopia to beachside Bondi. But I like to think it’s reached its evolutionary peak here at the water’s edge.
Due to fierce competition, driven by addiction and powered by desire, most purchases result in a pretty fine fix. I’m yet to find anywhere in the world with a more concentrated collection of coffee-focused cafes. And you thought we lived here because of the beach. Ha!
There are well over 50 dealers in town who can supply your Bondi beans. Did I say dealers? I meant highly-respected local establishments. Anyway, this is an anxiety-inducing number of options when you’re still wiping the sleep from your eyes.
So let me try and help.
I’ve sampled nearly all of them many times over (I know, such a martyr) and think this list (by location) should appeal to most coffee connoisseurs and provide a perky start to your day…
